Rogue Rollergirls
Founded in October 2006, the Rogue Rollergirls, known as FRD or Fayetteville Roller Derby, Inc.〔(Fayetteville Roller Derby, Inc. )〕 is an all-women, flat-track roller derby league with a stated mission to growing as a stable organization of inspiring, confident athletes, and positive female role models. FRD strives to give back to the local community, while playing and promoting the sport of roller derby. They are a non-profit organization, managed and operated by the skaters.
Located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, FRD is a newly appointed member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) apprentice program.〔(WFTDA accepts 14 apprentice members May 2014 )〕
== League history ==
The Rogue Rollergirls were founded in October 2006 by former Gem City Rollergirls and Carolina Rollergirls skater, Rachel Sumja, aka Bull Lee. The inaugural bout of the Rogue Rollergirls was held in March 2007 between Rogue's two home teams: the Cherry Belles and the Black Mambas. Both team names were retired in May 2009, at the Battle Royale, which saw the return of many former Rogue skaters for Bull Lee's retirement bout.〔(FAQ )〕
